ACA
Paddlesport Organization
The American Canoe Association was founded in 1880 and is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves the broader paddling public by providing educational programs, supporting stewardship initiatives that affect paddlers, and offering competition opportunities to athletes of all abilities.
ACA - course
Online Paddlesports Course
The ACA and the U.S. Coast Guard created a free online paddling safety course. This is a great place to start your paddling education. This interactive course was developed to meet the ACA standards for paddlesports safety education. This course is mobile-friendly from start to finish and is designed to work on your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
GLSKS
Great Lakes Sea Kayak Symposium
GLSKS is an event for all paddlers to grow in their learning journey. Top coaches and an amazing community of paddlers come together to foster growth and development. The symposium happens every July in Grand Marais, MI. Courses take place on Lake Superior.
WMCKA
Paddling Symposium
Geared towards the beginning to the intermediate kayaker, the WMCKA Symposium offers 2 1/2 days of jam-packed kayak instruction with a very low student/instructor ratio. Instruction takes place on and in the sheltered water of Big Blue Lake.
